Well, if using ADB isn’t your particular cup of tea - and really, I wouldn’t blame you - developers on RootzWiki posted a simple 1-click app - now available in the Play Store - that can solve that nasty locked bootloader problem you’ve been having (root required). The process was fairly simple and required entering only a few command lines in terminal.
